Horizon Europe Health 2027: partner search for AI-based predictive biomarkers in chronic diseases. EUR 44.2 million, clinical data and modelling partners wanted, deadline 17 February 2027

HORIZON EUROPE · AI AND BIOMARKERS · PARTNER SEARCH

We are building a consortium for HORIZON-HLTH-2027-02-TOOL-01-two-stage, on AI-based predictive biomarkers for chronic non-communicable diseases. We are looking for partners who hold clinical data and partners who can model it.

Brussels time. The call runs in two stages: a short proposal at the first deadline, and a full proposal only for those who pass it.

Chronic non-communicable diseases, cancer excluded. Minimum consortium: three independent legal entities, each established in a different country, at least one in an EU Member State and at least two more in Member States or Associated Countries.

The full topic text is available on the European Commission funding portal. This page is not a summary of the call: it is an open invitation to join the consortium we are putting together.

Two halves that rarely sit at the same table

If you hold the dataHospitals and university clinics with longitudinal cohorts, imaging archives and real-world data on cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory or kidney disease. Years of records that are currently sitting unused. If you build the modelsResearch groups and companies working on multimodal data integration, machine learning and clinical decision support, including validation platforms and regulatory qualification pathways.

Most institutions have one half and not the other, and that is where good projects stop. Note that the topic asks for established AI methods adapted to a clinical question, not for new algorithms: the innovation is expected in the clinical use.

What we bring to the consortium

We are an Italian consultancy specialised in the management of publicly funded research projects. We do not compete with your science or your models: we take care of the work packages that have to be delivered anyway.

  • Partner search and consortium building: mapping clinical and technical candidates country by country, first contact, and roles, shares and data-sharing terms agreed in writing before submission;
  • Proposal coordination: timeline, work package structure, budget, and consistency across partner contributions;
  • Project and financial management: reporting, amendments, deadlines and obligations towards the granting authority, through to final reporting;
  • Communication and dissemination: strategy, visual identity, scientific events, press relations and project web pages. A mandatory work package in Horizon Europe, and the one most often left to the last minute.
Data protection is not a formality here. Moving patient data between hospitals in different countries has to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation from day one, and the topic also asks for trustworthy AI, performance and bias metrics, a regulatory qualification pathway and networking with other European projects. These points are scored, not decorative. Settling them before submission is part of what we do.
